"Six-Pack" Christmas

Since everyone will be going in different directions we decided to have our "Christmas" last night. Our friends Karen and Enrique gave us all a chef jacket, because we're always cooking something. Now all we need are the hats to go with them:-) Everyone got the coolest gifts....Christmas is so much fun.

Christmas #2

Chris is being deployed on the 1st of January so Amanda and Gabriel will be here on the 6th of January :-) Not to much of a Christmas delay. They'll be here until July sometime then Amanda will fly back to meet up with Chris and I get to keep Gabriel here for a couple of weeks!!!!!!! YIPEEEEE!!!!! Chris gets a few weeks off when he gets back so they'll spend the rest of the summer here. Imagine all the time I'm going to spend with that little guy......I can't wait!!!!

Delayed Christmas

Well....the Mehl family will not be coming for Christmas. Chris found out the other day that he is being deployed sometime between now and Jan. 4th so they canceled his leave and they have to stay in AZ for Christmas. He'll be gone for six months, which will be tough for 'Manda, but on the brighter side they will be here while he's gone :-) So, we're planning on having 2 Christmas celebrations. I wonder if we can find a Santa in January:-) Happy Holiday's to everyone!

Oh Christmas Tree!

We got our tree this weekend. For anyone who has seen my Christmas trees they know that they are bigger around than they are tall. This one is no exception. I think it's the chubbiest tree we've had in a long time. Paul had a fit, he didn't think we would get it in the house but as you can see, with a little help from me, it made it in just fine :-) We're going to wait for Amanda to come home so she can help decorate it so in the mean time we helped our friends Joe and Michael decorate theirs. "It's beginning to look alot like Christmas" :-)

Happy Thanksgiving

Well, I'm a little late, but I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. We had a great day (nothing like last year when the roaster quit and the turkey was raw!). My family was here for dinner (only 16 this year) and then our friends came by after. Tons of food, as usual, and lots of laughs. I love the holiday season. Next on the list.......Christmas :-)

The Sausage Shop

The "Six Pack" is off on another adventure. Paul decided he wanted to make sausage so we packed up all the equipment and headed for the Cape. It took us all day to make 60 pounds of sausage! It came out great but I really don't want to look at a piece of sausage for a looooong time :-)

Little Cutie

Oh my goodness.....I can't wait to get my hands on him!!!! This is how Gabriel greets Amanda every morning. I might be a little prejudice(duh....maybe just a little!)but I don't really think he could get much cuter :-)

It's Fall

It's fall, literally in RI. It rained all night last night and all day today and here's the results. It looks as though my yard has been covered with a brown blanket. I guess that's the price we have to pay for all the beautiful colors we have here. I certainly have some work ahead of me :-)

The "Ladies"

We went to a fund raiser last night and Legends was the entertainment. The "Ladies" put on a good show and as usually Paulie was a good sport when I decided he needed to take a couple of pictures with the girls.

Making Cavatelli

Our friends mom is an expert pasta maker and this weekend she was nice enough to give us a lesson. They made 20 lbs. of cavatelli!!!!! As you can see Paul was a very good student and our good friend Joe cooked some up for us for supper......DELICIOUS :-)

Treasure Hunt

Our friends had a yard sale this past weekend. I of course couldn't bear to part with any of my treasures (I guess that's the old yankee in me) but we went to help and to see if there were any "treasures" we couldn't do without. Paul said he was trying out my next vehicle....very funny Paulie!!! I think I found the best treasure, the 80's headpiece...how do you like it? Despite the cold weather it was fun and of course we came home with a truck full!

New Roof

The roof is finished and it came out great....good job Clint & Martin! Now it's time for Paul to get out his paint brush.

Weekend at the Beach

Friends of ours invited us to their log cabin beach house in Narragansett for the weekend. It is right across the street from the beach and sits on 13 acres (which if pretty crazy for Narragansett). The weather was beautiful for walking on the beach, sad to say not for swimming though. Being the junk collectors we are we had to go to the flea market and everyone of course found something they couldn't live without.

New England Color

The colors are so beautiful around here now. It seemed like it happened over night. I thought I'd share some of the fall colors with everyone.

Little Critters

These little monarch caterpillers seemed to love my mums. They are a sure sign that fall is here.

Look at that crazy hair on me!!!
