Showing Off Gabriel

We went to CT to visit my aunt. She lives in and elderly apartment complex and needless to say Gabriel was a hit. She had us all over the place showing him off. He's such a good baby, he had a huge smile for everyone he met. Amanda is such a good mom and she's doing a great job with him. It's been fun hanging out with them.

One More Day

Another beautiful day and one last adventure before Amanda and Gabriel go back to AZ. Gabriel loved the pool, he must have gotten use to the cold water from swimming at the Cape. We had such a great time. My heart was broken when I had to put them on that plane. Hopefully Chris will be able to transfer out this way, until then we're already planning their Christmas visit :-)

Time Flies!

My little muffin man is on his way home. I can't believe how fast the time went by. It was great having Amanda home again (I wish they lived closer!) and I absolutly LOVED having Gabriel here....big surprise huh. He really is such a good baby. I took about 1,000,000 pictures of him so once I go through them I'll share them - or should I say bore you with them :-) Now the count down begins for Christmas!

We're Off Again

This time we went to Rumney New Hampshire. Friends of ours own a beautiful house right on the lake, they let us use it for the week (thanks Mike and Nancy). So we packed up the gang (including our friends dog, he loves going on vacation with us) and hit the road. It seems like any where you look in New Hampshire there is a picture perfect view. On one of our adventures we found this beautiful waterfall. I wanted to find a place to swim but it was running pretty hard. The weather was crazy, rain in some valleys and beautiful sunny days just 10 miles away, but it's always fun with our gang.

Polar Caves

Our friends headed back today so Paul and I decided to explore the Polar Caves. It's a pretty cool place. A glacier moved over New Hampshire thousands of years ago, as is thawed blocks of granite (hence the name the Granite State) cracked and fell forming the caves. We never found out why they are named "Polar" caves, there were never any polar bears there. I sure got a workout that day!

It started out a little cloudy this morning so we went to breakfast at a local diner...notice the name, pretty cool don't you think :-) Then took a ride through some back roads and little towns. We stopped at a farmers market in Bethlehem and while we were walking around the town we found these two places. One was a "junk" shop. I can't begin to tell you the crap this guy had in this place! It was very interresting to say the least. Then a little further down the street was this other place, it was suppose to be an artists studio. The place was falling apart but the cool thing was all the tonker trucks lining the railing. There were a couple of other odd places but we decided we better get out of there while we still could....has anyone ever seen the movie Deliverence...... what a town!

The Rally

On Thursday we left Rumney and headed for the rally at Attitash Mountain in Bartlett NH. My cousin and his wife met us there. The weather wasn't great but we did get some riding in when we got there and again for a while on friday until the rain came in and we just couldn't get away from it. Saturday was a different story, it was beautiful and we rode all day....the hot tub felt great after that! We had another great vacation.

Pirates Of RI

Our colorful cuban friend, Captain 'Rique, and his sidekick Lola docked in my backyard on their way out to sea. To funny, we never know what he's going to do next. He and his bird were hired for some entertainment at a wedding. Talk about weird, the whole wedding was a pirate theme. Maybe it had something to do with us being the ocean state....you never know when it comes to RI.

Post A Memory

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I or Paul or my family have shared.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't have a blog, leave a memory just for the fun of it.

A Day At The Beach

Paul and I decided to take a late afternoon ride to cooler temperatures. We headed south. We got the pass for the Durango so we can drive out onto the beach and then set out to find a quiet spot for a light supper picnic. We went to Charleston and sat at the breachway watching the boats (and sharing some of my supper with the seagulls) I thought I'd share some shots of Narragansett Bay with you.

Tailgating

A bunch of us got together for a tailgate supper at the drive-in this weekend. We went to see The Dark Knight. The movie, in my opinion, was good but very "dark". I couldn't really get by the fact that Heath Ledger is dead, and there he was bigger than life right in front of us. He did an unbelieveable job playing the Joker, it was hard to believe that it was that nice looking young man playing him. We did have a great time though, lots of good food (of course, we're all Italian!) and great friends. We hadn't been to a drive-in for at least 10 years!

My Garden Update

It's been so hot here lately (in the 90's with 100% humidity) that all I've been able to do is water my gardens. I guess they love the heat because they're growing like crazy! My favorite find this year is the purple moon plant. When it blooms it looks like an explosion.

Graduation Day

Congrats Mikey!

This is my nephew Michael, he graduated from high school in May and my sister had his party last weekend. He had a special guest there, Lola. She belongs to our friend Enrique. He raises canaries and parakeets and takes them, along with Lola, to schools to teach kids about different birds. Everyone loved Lola she was the hit of his party.

Look at that crazy hair on me!!!
